Silly parents, school is for kids!

Samuel L. Jackson spoke to kids at the Balistine W. Hopkins Head Start Center in Shreveport this morning, but it was hard to see the kids for the parents. Hundreds of parents and fans turned out and packed into the courtyard of the Head Start preschool.

Now, I understand people in Shreveport get a little starstruck, but it seems the school should have drawn a line... at the door.

People can't just walk into a school on any other day, so what makes today any different? On top of the obvious security issues was the fact that Jackson spent so much time fighting the crowds that it seemed nearly impossible for him to have his photo made with each group of kids.

I don't get starstruck very often, so maybe I just don't get it. But it seemed to me the ensuing chaos may have left a bitter taste in our guest's mouth. Trying to do something for a community, trying to give back to the kids is a great thing. But when you gotta ask the parents to move to the back so the kids can see???

Come on Shreveport, play it a little cooler next time.

I agree! It's pretty sad when all these little kids are craning their little necks to try to see over a bunch of selfish adults. I took my kids to the "Slime Across America" tour at the Boardwalk and the same thing was happening there. My poor kids had to push their way up front, and still grown adults were in the way. Get a life people!

Perhaps Shreveport can now identify with some of the problems and concerns celebrities have regarding doing things in and for the public. Unless it is really organized and secured (protect celebrit in all manners, it can quickly turn to chaos.
