Daguerreotype Textures

I found some old daguerreotypes (thanks to a hint from a friend in the graphics business) and used them as a texture for this year's basketball MVP images. I simply dropped the textures ontop of my images and set the layer effect to screen, then I used the eraser tool to take away parts I didnt want and the clone tool to add some in places. I reduced the saturation and applied a number of steps to get a retro, lomography-looking image. Together it looks like some old photograph someone may have found in their musty, dusty basement.
