Juvenile Justice

A few days ago I posted an Audio Slideshow recently that went along with Sunday's Juvenile Detention package. The challenge for this assignment was to make a bunch of images without being able to identify any of the kids that are staying in the local facility.

Residents at the center are charged with anything from being ungovernable, running away and theft to burglary and assault.

The residents spend spend their time in a room at the facility complete with a stainless-steel sink and toilet and a cot. Residents also wear matching orange jumpsuits, socks and white shoes.

This is not the first time I have photographed residents in the facility but it was the first time that I had plenty of time documenting life in the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.
